2024 RHS MARCHING BANDS
Hello Marching Band families. Congratulations on another successful band camp for the Marching Gaels! Our newest members have shown a lot of growth over the last week and our sophomores, juniors, and seniors have been great role models for them! We have another exciting season ahead of us and I look forward to sharing it with you as it continues to come together.
We appreciate all the support of our friends and family at yesterday’s end of camp performance and we truly hope you will get involved in volunteering with us this season. The students work hard to create something of high quality, but it takes an army of outstanding parent volunteers to make it possible to host a show (The Marching Band Classic) and to travel to perform and compete. YOU are part of our Band Family, join us and see what your students do from a totally new perspective! Remember, not everyone has to be the head of something. Showing up and helping is needed even more… Your students and the marching band staff appreciate it, reach out and ask how you can get involved!
Here is the schedule for Week #1 of the season. Some general reminders-
- Please remember, now that we are beyond band camp, all Marching Gaels rehearsals are mandatory! Please make sure you are planning ahead – work/concerts/trips/visiting friends/etc are not excused absences – all students are important contributing members at all times, which means that even a single absence can make a significant difference in our practice and preparation. Please see our attendance policy in the handbook for more details.
- This first football game is a HOME GAME, which means SOUND-ONLY MEMBERS WILL ATTEND!
- For future planning, at AWAY GAMES, ALL MARCHING GAELS (except for colorguard) ATTEND. SOUND-ONLY MEMBERS DO NOT ATTEND AWAY GAMES.
I wish everyone a wonderful last few days of summer as you prepare for the school year!
