2024 RHS MARCHING BANDS
Hello Roxbury Band fans,
I hope everybody has had a great first week of school and is enjoying your Labor Day weekend! For our new Marching Gaels students/families, on Wednesdays between school and rehearsal, student leaders hold short sectionals with their sections, and all students are expected to attend unless there is a conflict. They will also have plenty of time to hang out, do homework, and eat. Staff will be around, so there is no problem with students staying at the school until our evening rehearsal (in fact, it’s encouraged)! Student leaders will be in touch to plan the best time to hold sectionals.
Congrats to our first-year members for their first Roxbury Sound show! Remember to all students, music memorization must continue, and the 3rd tune needs to be taken care of as well! Details for cuts are in your Google Classroom where the parts are posted. Our next rehearsal is this Wednesday evening to prepare for this Friday’s home game.
This Saturday, the Marching Gaels will once again be playing music to open this year’s Suckasunny Day, we hope you can come out and join us!
Marching Gaels, don’t forget to pick up those instruments and do a little playing each day so we can come back ready to go on Tuesday… We are only 3 weeks out from our home competition. That time is going to fly by before you realize it and we still have a LOT to do!

10:00 – Suckasunny Day Performance

11:00 – Gaels Rehearsal
Lunch break will be at 1:00 pm
REMINDERS FOR PARENTS….
- Thanks for all your support at the first home game this past week, we had a great time performing for you! Come cheer us on again this Friday, and check out the Marching Gaels play at the opening of Suckasunny Day this coming Saturday!
- Student-pickup at the end of rehearsals has continued to be good in general! Thank you for being prompt and allowing staff to go home on time. Please remember to stay out of the bus lanes, students should continue to meet you in parking spaces throughout the season.
- I will be sending out season updates about rehearsals, football games, etc. through our parents Reminds, please make sure you are signed up. You should only be joining ONE Remind group so there is room for everyone. See the handbook for instructions.
